Saw "The Long Walk" last night. It was as probably as good as it could be

given the source material. The two main characters carried the movie and their relationship was really well developed. But to buy the story you have to suspend disbelief far too much - there's no way anyone, let alone a group of teens, could walk at a minimum pace of 3 mph for over 300 miles without sleep.

I'm sure that it does

The only way Pablo uncovered this was the discovery from the case against the company CEO. As I listened to this I could see myraid ways a team could launder money through a company to circumvent the cap and never get discovered.

What do you think will happen with the Clippers - Kawhi investigation?

Having listened to all the Pablo Torre journalism on the matter, my prediction is: 1. Kawhi will be implicated, as will some lower level Clippers operatives. 2. Steve Ballmer will have plausible deniability - he's too big to fail. 3. Kawhi gets fined, Clippers staff get fired. 4. Ballmer laughs and makes more money.

If the moon was made of spare ribs, would you eat it?

I would...and then I'd polish it off with a tall, cool Budweiser.

Massively addictive new video game has sold 10 million copies while being

incredibly low tech and stupid. You play a little bloated stick figure who's task is to hide in a series of rooms by blending in to the environment using a paint tool. The kids call this kind of game 'friend slop.' The developers should be proud.

The opposition is fierce

I think the state will try to get ahead of things, rather than have a patchwork of laws across the state.

I never understood how this works. They overadmit every year, and then

statistically they assume X percent of admits won't show. It always seemed to me that's risky.

Saw Backrooms last night

I think it did a good job at conveying the weirdness of Kane Pixel's original YouTube videos. But the videos are short, have no characters and only have to be creepy without explaining what you're seeing. A feature length film can't get away with that. So the challenge is to add characters and create a story that enhance the experience. I won't go so far to say the film out-creepies the YouTube stuff, but at least it doesn't water it down. It does, however, attempt to explain what the Backrooms are, which isn't as successful. When it sticks to the weirdness it succeeds at a pretty high level. Incidentally, this is the third 2026 genre film directed by a YouTuber that has been wildly successful. Iron Lung made $50 million at a $3 million cost, Obsession has already topped $100 million at a $1 million cost, and Backrooms made over $110 million it's opening weekend at a $10 million cost. Indies are taking Hollywood to school.

Hot tub is a contentious issue - sauna more likely

Hot tubs require a lot of day to day care and I'm not sure even a cohost would be up to the challenge. I'm considering a sauna and maybe a cold plunge.

After several years of trials and tribulations my Ft Valley AirBnB is gonna

happen. The unit gets delivered to the site Friday and should be finished out by the end of July.

What's more important, winning the ACC tourney or placing higher in the

NCAA tourney? When they win the ACC, we place higher in the NCAA, and vice versa.

Flo made a career out of that character

I only ever saw her in one other thing - an episode of "Angel."

I just asked USPS the cost of shipping from here to Philly via Express Mail

It wouldn't have arrived until Sunday, and it cost $44. I ended up using Priority Mail (arrives Monday) for $12.

Interesting YouTube video - "Why Some Wrestlers Improve Faster Than Others"

From a young wrestling coach. Also includes video footage of Gaj, Seidel and Bassett. ** Edited by Baltimore Hokie at 4/11/2026, 2:02:58 PM

I'm looking at the big picture. We dominated Stanford in the ACCs, yet

they blew past us in the tourney. Every one of our wrestlers who got upset contributed to that. Someone here posted that it we simply wrestled to seed, we'd have ended up 6th. Also our upperclassmen tend to regress - that's a trend that's been happening since Lewis...

Remember a VT OL named Jon Dunn?

He came in the class of 2000. Huge guy, 6-7 335. Didn't lift in high school, got by on his size only. Came to VT benching something like 220 lb. In 2002 we played TAMU in College Station. We managed to win the game, but Dunn was tortured by TAMU DE Ty Warren. Humiliated. Owned. Dunn later admitted that Warren's domination was his wake up call for S&T. He started applying himself and eventually became a solid LT. Anyway...how many Ty Warren-equvalent wrestlers has Mullen gone up against the past three seasons? If the light was going to come on for him, it probably would have happened by now.

Note that several of our wrestlers appeared to peak at the ACC tourney

Then collapse at the NCAAs. Stanford did the opposite. That is one major thing we need to fix.
